Our Solutions
Digital Addressable Lighting Interface (DALI)
DALI is a trademark for network-based products that control lighting. The underlying technology was established by a consortium of lighting equipment manufacturers as a successor for 1-10 V/0–10VDC lighting control systems, and as an open standard alternative to several proprietary protocols.
How does DALI works?

Most of the hardware used in a DALI system is the same as what’s used in a more typical system. The big difference: With DALI, LED drivers and ballasts can be linked to a central computer, allowing each to be controlled independently. DALI systems are available for T5, T5HO, T8 and compact fluorescent lamps.
KNX
KNX is an open standard for commercial and domestic building automation. KNX devices can manage lighting, blinds and shutters, HVAC, security systems, energy management, audio video, white goods, displays, remote control.
How does KNX works?

The KNX bus line is the main central nervous system for all automatons. It is a green cable which is installed in addition to the conventional mains supply during a new build or renovation project.
All of the various building technology elements are then connected to one another vis the main KNX bus line in accordance with the KNX standard for building automation.
The cable system is then managed by such things as sensors, detectors, parameters, etc. — which can then be conveniently controlled by end users with a laptop, smart phone or tablet device.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is DALI and why does EcoXplore use it?
DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is the industry-standard open protocol for lighting control. Each luminaire has a unique address, enabling per-fixture dimming, grouping, and status feedback over a two-wire bus. DALI eliminates the wiring complexity and proprietary lock-in of older 1-10V and analogue systems.
How much energy does lighting control typically save?
Daylight harvesting combined with occupancy sensing typically reduces lighting energy by 30 to 60 percent in commercial offices and 20 to 40 percent in production facilities. Savings depend on existing fixture efficacy, building orientation, and operating hours.
Can lighting control integrate with the BMS and EMS?
Yes. The lighting controller publishes occupancy and energy data to the BMS over BACnet, and lighting circuit consumption flows into the EMS for sub-metered reporting. Coordinated lighting and HVAC control (turning off both when a zone is unoccupied) compounds the savings.
Does the system support retrofitting existing buildings?
Yes. DALI converters and gateway modules enable retrofit of existing 1-10V drivers, magnetic ballasts (where electronically dimmable replacements are not feasible), and KNX or DMX islands. Wireless DALI variants reduce rewiring effort in occupied buildings.
