Milesgo SW8000

Milesgo SW8000

The Milesgo SW8000 is an unmanaged industrial Ethernet switch providing eight 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports. It is a plug-and-play switch requiring no configuration, designed to bring reliable 100 Mbit connectivity to industrial and building automation networks.

Key Features:

  • Eight 100M ports: 8 x 10/100BaseT(X) RJ45 ports with auto-adaptive speed.
  • Redundant dual power input: AC/DC 12 to 24 V across two removable 2-contact terminal blocks, so a second supply can back up the first.
  • Lightning protection: designed with surge protection for exposed runs. For external applications, a grounding wire on the casing is sufficient.
  • Building automation ready: the power design supports AC 24 V, the common control-panel voltage, although 12-24 V DC is the usual supply.
  • Overload protection: 1.1 A overload current protection, drawing only 0.1 A at 24 V.
  • Rugged housing: galvanized steel shell rated IP30.

Mechanical: 152 x 75 x 26 mm, weighing 270 g, DIN-rail mounted so it drops straight into a distribution box or control panel.

Environment: operating temperature -10 to 60 °C (14 to 140 °F); storage temperature -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F) including packaging; ambient relative humidity 5 to 95 % non-condensing.

A five-port model, the SW5000, is also available for smaller node counts.

Typical Applications:

  • Building automation panels: aggregating BMS controllers, gateways and IP devices on a DIN rail alongside other control equipment.
  • Industrial control cabinets: connecting PLCs, HMIs and I/O modules over 100 Mbit Ethernet.
  • Energy monitoring networks: linking Ethernet-capable meters and protocol gateways back to a supervisory system.
  • Exposed and semi-outdoor runs: segments needing surge protection, with the chassis earthed via a grounding wire.
  • Distribution box expansion: adding switch ports where a rack-mount switch will not fit.
